In his first solo project at the gallery, Guido Ignatti continues his explorations of the qualities of interior spaces in Buenos Aires. In La Consulta he investigates the liminal space of the waiting room in a doctor's office. He creates an object/installation departing from the remnants of a found twenty year old waiting room décor. The paintings in the show refer to the kind of art that was ubiquitous in the walls of Argentina's professional middle class during the second half of the XX Century, specifically the stylized and uncanny paintings of Mariette Lydis.
